Realignment: “Financial Incentives” or Legalized Theft; You Won’t Buy Off Jews’ Connection With Eretz Yisrael …

Official: Realignment Methods Unlike Gaza

Excerpts;

Speaking at the national security research center in Haifa University, Giladi said that a new evacuation-compensation law expected to be passed in the beginning of 2007 is the main driving force expect to expedite the “move” out of the West Bank.

Giladi, who headed coordination and strategy before and during the disengagement at the Prime Minister’s Office, said that the equivalent process in the West Bank will not take years. “There is not going to be another disengagement in a military manner where the army and police will evacuate people from their homes – not in 2006, not in 2007, and not in 2008. It seems that a certain dynamics are developing that will allow people to begin moving out as a choice.” read more

The Car Needs a Front-End ‘Realignment’ …

While saying over the vort on this week’s Parsha HaShevua, a few thoughts occured to this author which are presented here.

One thought is about Ehud Olmert’s latest term for disengagement = expulsion (convergence, consolidation), ‘realignment.’

It would seem that Olmert looks at Medinat Yisrael as an out-of-alignment auto. Apparently those “crazy believing Jews” with their connection to Eretz Yisrael, have kareemed over too many speed-bumps and thrown the national auto out of alignment. Ergo, the latest name for Olmert’s hope — Expulsion of more Jews shall henceforth be known as “realignment”, until the rocket-scientists come up with still another synonym. read more

Parsha Chaye Sarah 5770: Avraham’s Intuitive Perceptions, Today’s Real Adversarial Intentions

by Moshe Burt

There are two intriguing commentaries, each relating to a different posuk of Parsha Chaye Sarah, regarding the dialogue leading up to Avraham Aveinu’s acquisition of the Ma’arat HaMachpela for 400 shekels of silver from Efron the Hittite.

The first of the two posukim is spoken by Avraham and says, in part:

“I will have given the money for the field; take it of me …” (Breish’it, Perek 23, posuk 13)

“…That a man may marry a woman by using money to effect the marriage is deduced in the Talmud (Kiddushin 2) by drawing a parallel from this verse. But the parallel goes beyond merely the acquisition of the land of the Efronite and the acquisition of a wife. Just as in a marriage the act of acquisition is only the beginning and not the end, because that is when all one’s obligations begin — food, clothing, etc. — the same is true in our dealings with the Efronites. Nothing ends with written contracts and agreements. We pay, pay and pay again, and yet they keep demanding more from us.” (Torah Gems on Chaye Sarah, page 182 quoting Rabbi A.M. Amiel) read more

Parsha Breish’t 5769: New Beginnings; Lessons for the Jews

.

By Moshe Burt

Somehow, not being rabbinic or a Talmud Chacham, it has always seemed difficult to put a true and deep meaning of Hashem’s creation to words.

In Hashem’s expression of creation; “Breish’t, Bora, Kelokim.” (“In the beginning, Hashem created the heavens and the earth”, Sefer Breish’t, Perek 1, posuk 1) Torah surely wasn’t referring to that big 7 run 7th inning by the Red Sox in game 5 of the ALCS vs the Tampa Bay Rays where they trailed 3 games to 1 and 7-0 in the game; you know the one, ‘In the big inning.’ read more

Kadima Party, Leaders: Conceived and Born in Sin

.

431 Vote Difference in Tainted Party Primary NOT National Mandate

Commentary;

For those not too young, timid or politically equivocal to remember the truth; the Kadima Party was conceived in evil and formed by the 2 1/2 year comatose former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as a Super-Party shelter and safe-haven for all of main facilitators of the August 2005 expulsions of Jews from their homes, assets, communities and Shuls in Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron towns.

And who were the chiefs among these facilitators of the August, 2005 expulsion besides Sharon who shared his vision of consolidation, convergence, realignment; synonyms for using the Gush Katif model for making Yehuda and the Shomron Yudenrein and handing biblical Jewish land and heritage to the enemy? read more

Parsha Va’etchanan 5768 — Consolation After Expulsion, After the Cruelty, Arrogance of Israeli Governance?

.

by, Moshe Burt

The Haftorah for our Parsha begins, “Nachamu, Nachamu Ami yomar Elokeichem” — “Comfort, comfort my people — says your G’d.” (Yishaiya, 40:1) This sentiment seems to be silent, but yet a theme of Parsha Va’etchanan.

In the beginning of Parsha, Moshe Rabbeinu recalls for the B’nai Yisrael how he entreated Hashem for permission to cross the Jordan River but that his request was denied. Instead, he was consoled by viewing the Land from Mount Pisgah. (L’lmod Ul’Lamed – Parsha Va’etchanan, page 161) read more
