MK Schneller: Armed Citizens ‘First Response to Terror Attacks’

Full Text;

MK Otniel Schneller (Kadima) is set to convene a secondary committee on issues concerning Judea and Samaria following an Israel Radio report that the IDF had collected hundreds of weapons from settlers in the Binyamin region.

“Citizens who carry guns are the first response to terror attacks,” Schneller told Israel Radio on Wednesday, adding that if the justification for the move was political, “it is stupid and will lead to anarchy.” read more

Security Lapse at Yehuda Regional IDF Base

.

Commentary;

Marzel’s got a point about the possibility of Arabs infiltrating the base. This author has never seen a picture of Itamar Ben-Gvir before, but the higher media profile Marzel is definitely known. So if young soldiers can’t visually distinguish Marzel from other soldiers “coming for an exercise,” its a sad commentary on the awareness of most Israelis. Marzel and Ben-Gvir did the IDF a great service. But the IDF wears pie on its face.

Hopefully, the guards will receive better training in the future, rather than having to spend days in the slammer as is commonly meted out to soldiers who make this type of mistake of non-recognition which is later publicized in the media. Hopefully, young soldiers will learn to be attentive to the faces of national personalities. MB read more

The Horse’s Mouth: Shas Won’t Leave for “Just Jerusalem”

.

Commentary;

For those who had any doubts about the Shas party’s lack of spiritual connection to Jerusalem or anything not directly connected to Shas pockets, their latest spokesman, Communications Minister Ariel Attias has already kissed off Yehuda and the Shomron as what Shas “was not created for,” now dispells all doubts;

“If there is progress in the negotiations about the [whole] country, and not just Jerusalem, that would cause the party to leave the government.” read more

The Open Hunting “Saison” 2008??

.
Commentary;

It is reported that the IDF has been collecting military-issued weapons in possession of residents of Binyamin region in Yesha, “including weapons that were in the possession of IDF officers.”

About this, Dr. Aaron Lerner of IMRA wrote the following;

In the next days we will know if this move is the action of some low level person in the IDF or a cynical move being directed from the Olmert team to turn the screws on the settlers to help make their lives more miserable in the hopes that they will get the message and start packing. read more

Still More Proof Olmert Regime Dividing Jerusalem; Shas Remains

.

Commentary;

Despite the increasing blatancy of the Olmert Regime’s division of Jerusalem, Shas remains in the government. Quite frankly, one must doubt that they would even make good their most recent empty “threat” to leave the government over bakeries selling and restaurants serviing Hametz during Pesach. The Shas party and its leadership have shown themselves to be a shallow, external appearing “religious” party, totally lacking ANY Jewish principles or values. One Gentile blogger looking at Shas’ hypocrisy has a point; They are pathetic. MB read more

Parsha Metzora 5768: Contrasting the Kohen and the Metzora on National Scale

.

By Moshe Burt

As our Parsha Metzora is normally, in most years, the twilight side of a Torah doubleheader parsha, a few points of discussion from last week, the individual’s Tzara’as extrapolated onto national ills needs further examination.

Last week, the Parsha Shevua on Parsha Tazria spoke to the unity which is the very essence of the Kohan.

Rabbi Zelig Pliskin in “Growth Through Torah” (page 253) cites the Rabbi of Alexander who cites as the reason why, when one suspected an affliction with Tzara’as, that he must go to Aharon, the Kohen and
not to a scholar, a Talmud Chacham; read more

12 Terrorists “Escape” PA “Prison”

.
Commentary;

Once again, we watch the “revolving door” door of the PA prison system at work, as with the recent report of the escape of two killers of the Jewish hikers near Hevron who were later claimed by PA prison authorities as having been given furlough.

It will be fascinating to watch how the PA explains away this escape — 12 terrorists roaming free to murder and maim more Jews. When will Olmert, Barak, Livni and Ramon come to grasp and take responsibility for the consequences of their equivocation and “goodwill” appeasement of a merciless, murderous enemy? When will Israel again take sole responsiblity for defense of the Jewish people? MB read more
