A policeman trying to stop an Arab tractor engaged in illegal Temple Mount excavations was assaulted – and the police chief who arrived on the scene arrested no one.

Officials of the Moslem Waqf (religious body) on the Temple Mount are digging there illegally, likely destroying precious artifacts from as early as the First Temple period. So say eyewitnesses and representatives of the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of Temple Mount Antiquities. read more

The Islamic destruction of Judaism’s holiest place continues unabatted and with the Antiquities Authority’s authorization.

In the case reported below, tractors and other heavy equipment are operationg under the guise of “infrastructure work to repair faulty electrical lines on the ancient compound.”

Gabriel Barkai, of the Committee Against the Destruction of Antiquities, reports; “that work carried out at the site on Monday – which eyewitnesses say was done with an Antiquties Authority official present – was the most damaging to date.” read more

Very interesting how the recent Mughrabi Gate construction and maintenance drew the virulent ire of the Arabs, the West and the Israeli left such that the weak-willed Olmert called in the Turks to be “impartial inspectors” and then shortly after, the project was ditched.

But, the unsupervised Arab digging on the Temple Mount, taking place for years, and Arab consolidation of their hold on Judaism’s Holiest Site continues to this day amidst the silent complicity and acquiesence of successive Israeli governments. MB read more
