United States to Present Olmert With ‘New Ideas’ to Advance Talks With PA

… A senior administration official said Sunday that the United States also has “new ideas for advancing the peace process,” and that American officials will present these ideas to Olmert during his visit. Among other things, it is necessary to bring “additional countries” into the circle of those supporting the peace process, the official said.
The administration, he added, will make it clear to Olmert that America believes the way to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is via the road map peace plan and direct negotiations with the Palestinian leadership. Yet at the same time, the administration recognizes that the current Hamas government “is not an address for negotiations,” and that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has not lived up to expectations – and may therefore not be able to serve as such an address either.

In November, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice brokered a deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority that called for the only goods crossing leading out of the fenced-in Gaza Strip, Karni, to remain open except in cases of exceedingly specific security threats.
But during the height of the harvest season, from January until now, Karni was closed by Israel more often than it was open, sometimes for weeks straight, because of what Israel said were continuous security threats from Palestinian terrorists.

If Pollard’s release is so important to the Rav, why was it not made a precondition with teeth, to Shas’ joining the coalition? Why, only after joining the coalition, did Pidyan Sh’vuim: redeeming captured [Jews], become an important mitzvah?
Is Rav Yosef willing to tell Shas to leave the government if Olmert does not return with Jonathan Pollard? MB

As this blog has presented often to date, the demographics problem is grossly exaggerated, overstated by at least 1/3 because of the government of Israel’s insistence on accepting “pa (sic)” demographic numbers as gospel. This acceptance comes despite independent analysis which has proven these “pa (sic)” numbers blatantly false. These blatantly false statics have also been accepted by the Efrat organization and pehaps even by such a highly regarded individual as Jonathan Rosenblum.

For any intelligent, thinking Jew, these terms thinly cloak the true purposes of the Sharon-Olmert Regime. For such people, the cabinet approved transfer of NIS 50 million to the “pa(sic)” is a complete absurdity.
And Abbas’ promise to keep this funding out of Hamas hands, to use it toward humanitarian needs? If you believe that, there is a bridge to sell you — cheap!
True separation means total and complete separation. No electricity, no telephones, no illegal workers, no monetary transfers, for any reason.
