Olmert Must Go …

Opinion: Olmert Cannot Remain in the Prime Minister’s Office By Ari Shavit (Haaretz)

Excerpts;

Ehud Olmert may decide to accept the French proposal for a cease-fire and unconditional surrender to Hezbollah. That is his privilege. Olmert is a prime minister whom journalists invented, journalists protected, and whose rule journalists preserved. Now the journalists are saying run away. That’s legitimate. Unwise, but legitimate.

However, one thing should be clear: If Olmert runs away now from the war he initiated, he will not be able to remain prime minister for even one more day. Chutzpah has its limits. You cannot lead an entire nation to war promising victory, produce humiliating defeat and remain in power. You cannot bury 120 Israelis in cemeteries, keep a million Israelis in shelters for a month, wear down deterrent power, bring the next war very close, and then say – oops, I made a mistake. That was not the intention. Pass me a cigar, please. read more

Massive Aliyah on 1 Year Anniversary of Expulsion: Glad Olmert Won’t Be There …

Western Aliyah This Week, Despite Month of War

Excerpt;

“Despite the two-front war, the thousands of missiles, and evacuation of northern communities, more than 800 North American and British Jews will be moving to Israel this week. Four planeloads of Jews are to arrive in Ben Gurion airport in the coming week – the first on Thursday. Wednesday, August 16th – the one year anniversary of the eviction of the Jews of Gaza – three flights will arrive.”

Commentary,

We remember much regarding the terrible abuse done by the evil regime last year to our brethren from Gush Katif. And in remembering, we recall Ehud Olmert’s arrogant, negative “greeting” to those Olim Chadashim who arrived one year ago, on the second day of the expulsion, 17 August, 2005. And we hope that these latest Olim Chadashim will be greeted in a more positive way. MB read more
