Theres’s no question that worldwide, unified Jewish action will help in the battle against Ahmadinejad’s Iraqi nuclearization. But, ultimately, the only thing which will eradicate it, or set it back years or decades is an Osirak-style Israeli attack. But since the Olmert regime considers itself inadequate and “too tired” to properly defend the Jewish nation, we are therefore left with halfway measures. MB

PA Official: Immigration of 40 Paves Way For 18,000
Full Text;
Following Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s concession, allowing 40 decedents of Arabs who left Israel in 1948 to emigrate to Judea and Samaria, Palestinian Authority officials say they are already working on using the precedent to bring about the immigration of 18,000 Arabs in Iraq to Judea and Samaria.
PA Minister of Information Riyad al-Malki told the PA-controlled Maan News Agency that the return of the 40 paves the way for the return of “all the Palestinian refugees.”

One of the things which really gets this author’s ire is the chutzpadik attitude of the Likud party towards it’s voters.
Consider the recent attempts by the Likud and it’s current party leadership to oust one of the current principals in the race for Likud leadership with the Leadership primary to tke place on 14 August, merely 15 days from now.
What are some of the rationale’s being used to justify ousting Manhigut Yehudit and it’s standard-bearer Moshe Feiglin?

In the previous years, Parsha Eikev has been equated in terms of one’s being attentive to the little Mitzvot; the details, the Mitzvot that one tends to overlook, to ignore, to tread one’s heels on in the mad dash, but without which the Jewish people would lack the merit which sets us apart from common man. The little mitzvot, the small details are the ones epitomized by V’Ahavtah L’rei’echa Komocha — caring for your fellow Jew as for yourself.

The introduction of Jordanian human shields with the very real potential of dangerous and damaging incidents as well as possible long term ramifications of the deployment of the Jordanian army at the gates of Jerusalem and Kfar Sava are so great that one can only wonder how many minutes – or seconds – were devoted to thinking this through.
This move also goes against the guiding principle of demilitarization of all areas this side of the Jordan River.

In 59 years since Israel’s modern-day statehood, perhaps things have remained the same. Sarah Honig writes a powerful and devastating analogy between the rhetoric of the Altalena period and the rhetoric of the expulsion from Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron towns.
