As incredible as it seems, many Jews just don’t seem to be getting the message — Jerusalem and Har HaBayit; the heart of the Jewish people, the direction we pray to, what the Jews have longed for, strived for throughout the entire long Golus, is on the chopping block. And it is NOT by the hand of the nations — it is not by the hand of President Bush, or Condelezza Rice that it is on the block, but by the hands of Ehud Olmert and his Trial Balloon Man Haim “the pervert” Ramon.

Hanan Porat: MK Porush Saved Rachel’s Tomb

Former MK Hanan Porat spoke to Arutz Sheva on Wednesday, describing the importance of Rachel’s Tomb (Kever Rachel) to the Jewish people and expressing regret that Israeli control in Bethlehem is limited. Porat remembered how he and MK Meir Porush (UTJ) convinced then-Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin to keep Rachel’s Tomb under Jewish control during the Oslo Accords, after Rabin had promised control of the area to former Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat.

Commentary;
In the report below, check out Olmert’s fine-print loophole buried on the last lines;
We don’t know if there will be an agreement, what the details of such an agreement will be or if it will be sufficient to bring for Knesset approval.
This Associated Press report on “parlimentary approval” makes that very point;
Mazuz said Olmert qualified that promise by saying that it was not clear the declaration would go far enough to require a vote.
In short, the above quote strongly indicates that Olmert’s loophole is wide enough to drive a division of tanks through, that language of any joint statement or declaration can and will be manipulated such that Olmert would get around presenting it to Knesset for approval. Further, the seemingly vague language would be structured, manipulated and doctored such that Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu would not bolt the government. The teflon Olmert would thus be “home free” to pursue his schemes to further his concessions and relinquishments. MB

A few months ago, gunmen affiliated with Fatah, and thus with Pa President Mahmoud Abbas, planned and plotted the assassination of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert.
The Pa is not denying the plot, they seem to only be denying that the gunmen involved were apprehended and later released in typical Pa revolving-door justice style. According to Ynet, “the three… admitted to the plot before they were released.” It is now reported that they are back in custody.
All intrigues and sub-intrigues aside as to why this plot was only divulged to the public months later, it must be obvious that Olmert’s continuance to hatch concessions regarding Jerusalem, Har HaBayit and elsewhere goes far beyond merely national irresponsibility. And that Shas and Yisrael Beiteinu continue in such a government of national irresponsibility is a national, moral and religious outrage! MB

Our Parsha opens with Hashem, as we understand, visiting Avraham Aveinu on the 3rd day after Bris Milah, when Avraham was at the height of his pain following the circumcision, as Rashi indicates, “to inquire about his welfare.” (Metsuda Linear Chumash rendering of Rashi on Perek 18, posuk 1)
It’s not like Hashem needed to pay a visit to ascertain Avraham’s actual condition for, Hashem is the Creator, The Master, The Ruler over the world who knows and is aware of everything. And so we learn and gain insight from this first posuk as to the Mitzvah of Bikur Cholim; showing, caring, giving strength and encouragement to the ill by visiting and caring about them.
