Rav Shmuel Eliyahu repeats yet again what this blog has reiterated numerous times; the systematic betrayal of Jonathan Pollard, again and again, by sucessive ISRAELI governments and by establishment so-called “Jewish leaders.”

This author holds that it is the abandonment of Pollard which set in motion the precedent and mindset for the abandonment of South Lebanon, the Oslo “agreements”, the expulsions of Jews from their homes, communities and Jewish Land in Gush Katif and the 4 Shomron towns. An ancient Midrash recounts a conversation between Ishmael and Isaac. Ishmael asserts his superiority over Isaac on the grounds that his circumcision took place at 13, when he was fully conscious of the ordeal, while Isaac was only eight days old at his circumcision. This author recalls a commentary by the K’li Yekar (Judiaca Press Chumash, page 600) on the first posuk of Parsha Vayechi which is leyned this Shabbos.

The K’li Yekar explains the lack of a space between the end of the previous sedra Vayigash and our parsha as meaning that the two poskim are understood together. The final verse of Vayigash reads;

And Yisrael dwelt in the land of Mitzriyim in the land of Goshen, and they acquired property in it and… multiplied greatly. read more

This author holds that columnist Caroline Glick is too American in scope and orientation such that there is a de-emphasis, or at least an under-emphasis on the true rationale behind the regime’s actions, and indeed, behind at least 20 years of actions by Israeli governance; a systematic campaign to brainwash and separate Israelis from their Jewish roots, history and heritage.

This author has attempted to excerpt this column in a way in keeping, with everything posted on this blog, to focus totally on the situation and perspective in Israel. This blog has endeavored to separate the Islamic lust for Israel’s destruction and eradication from worldwide Islamic foment. As such, this author is diabolically opposed to Israeli government rationalizations and hiding behind the bogus, non-existent “cloak” of American will and pressure. Goldwasser: The Matter of the Kidnapped Soldiers Doesn’t Interest Barak

Karnit Goldwasser, the wife of kidnapped reservist Ehud Goldwasser attacked on Saturday the security establishment, saying that she has done more to secure the release of her husband than Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Army Radio reported.

“It can’t be possible that I have done more on the matter of securing the release of the kidnapped soldiers than a man who had been the IDF chief and knows what to do in the field,” Goldwasser said. “I feel that the matter of the kidnapped soldiers doesn’t interest the minister of defense.” read more
