One cannot help but be cynical about Shas’ empty, meaningless, symbolic — lacking subtance threats to leave the Olmert regime. We’ve seen this played out before in this and previous regimes. If Shas won’t quit over Olmert’s concessions to Abbas or over the Olmert regimes’ debacle in Lebanon, or the ongoing Gaza debacle directly related to Monday’s attack at Dimona, does Yishai really expect Olmert to quake with fear over child support payments? Today’s Dimona attack, and perhaps, heaven forbid, more like it to come are the direct responsibility of Olmert, Barak, Yishai and of a shameless, devalued “leadership” whose values are about continuance of their own power, agendas and self-interests — the nation be damned. MB

Woman Killed, 10 Hurt, 1 Critically in Dimona Suicide Attack
Excerpts;
One woman was killed and ten were wounded, one critically, one moderately and eight lightly, in a suicide attack in a Dimona commercial center.
Police said the attack was a suicide bombing carried out by two attackers, but only one succeeded in detonating his explosives. The other terrorist was killed by Kobi Mor, a police officer from an elite unit who happened to be on the scene, seconds before the bomber could detonate himself.

It seems to this author that each Parsha in Torah carries with it a major theme, attribute or mido.
The two previous Parshiyot; Yithro and Mishpatim speak about related attributes; intent and honesty and our Parsha, Terumah addresses motivation.
In previous years, this Parsha sheet for Parsha Terumah dealt with man’s motivations equating them with what drives the athlete in the beginning, or as we baseball fans say, in the “Big Inning”. And as has been done regarding other Parshiyot, once again this year another revisit of the motivation of men seems appropriate.

“There is a lot of work to be done, and I am happy we will do it together,” Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in response to Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s announcement, Sunday afternoon.
Earlier, Labor chairman Barak said the party will remain in Olmert’s government despite the conclusions of the Winograd report.
“I’m going to continue to function as the defense minister because I see the challenges ahead of us – Gaza, Hizbullah, Iran, Syria, as well as the improvement of the army and the political echelon,” Barak said during a press conference before the weekly cabinet meeting.

Jewish residents of the Peace House in Hevron will finally be allowed to install windows in their freezing cold building four days after the worst winter storm of the season came howling through the region.
Permission to immediately begin renovations of the building was announced by Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai (Shas) who said the decision was made after consultations with Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

Will Olmert and his corrupt, graft-ridden group of incompetent, political hacks in unison with their leftist-msm partners continue to dictatorially rule Israel after Winograd? Or will the masses of Jewish public awaken, get their backs up and force Olmert and his lazy, protexia-ridden, surrenderist regime to collapse?
Will the people compel deconstruction of the governmental instruments which enable an Olmert and money-grubbing coalition partners to gain power?

Five days ago, this blog cited Olmert’s promise to Shas that “there would be no freeze to construction in Jerusalem, Ma’aleh Adumim and Beitar [Ilit].”
The Haaretz report excerpted below confirms this blog’s assertion that Olmert’s “promises” are as worthless as spent toiletpaper or plug-nickels. The bottom-line; is Shas and its religious leaders part of the problem or part of the solution? MB
