Commentary;
Anyone with an ounce of common-sense, who has followed events in Israel; i.e. Rabin and Peres’ talks, Netanyahu’s talks, Sharon’s, who knows Syria’s track record for years knows and understands that for talks to take place, indirect or otherwise, the actualization of “The Syrians know what we want and we know what they want” would have to have been committed.
Olmert even admits this actualization later stating that;
“He could prove that all four of the previous prime ministers had held negotiations with Syria and had been ‘ready to offer extremely painful concessions.'”

Derch HaTeva (On an earthly level, In earthly terms or understanding) Dr. Aaron Lerner of IMRA emphasizes former head of Israel’s National Security Council Gen. (ret) Giora Eiland points regarding the dependability of Syrian president Bashar Assad’s word and the stability of his regime regarding negotiations with Syria and regarding the Golan Heights.
But, on a higher level, as with Jerusalem, as with Yehuda and Shomron, as with Gush Katif, if the B’nai Yisrael, or if the defense establishment takes it upon themselves to equivocate regarding our inalienable Divine right to the Golan, as an inseperable part of Eretz Yisrael, then what Divine right do we then have to ANY part of The Land?

‘Erez Attack Could Have Been Far Worse’
Excerpts;
An Islamic Jihad suicide bomber driving a truck loaded with four tons of explosives tried to ram the crossing early in the day.
The truck exploded on the Gaza side of the border, blowing a hole in a pedestrian passageway leading out of the terminal and into Gaza. But no pedestrians were there because it was still early and the IDF said no soldiers were wounded.
Shortly after the explosion, an IAF helicopter fired a missile at a nearby jeep which the army said was accompanying the exploding truck. The army said that terrorists apparently planned to use the jeep to kidnap soldiers or to penetrate across the border after the explosion.
