Nadia Matar Questioned Over Obstructing an Officer
Excerpts;
Nadia Matar, co-chairwoman of the Women In Green grassroots movement, was questioned by Gush Etzion police today, after officers turned up at her home with an interrogation order. Matar was accused of taking part in an illegal gathering and of interfering with an officer of the law carrying out his duties. Matar refused to cooperate with her interrogators, claimed she was innocent and called the police orders “Bolshevik persecution”.
“‘And the more they are oppressed, thus will they increase and expand,'” Matar quoted from the Torah, “This only strengthens me to continue with activities that, it would seem, bother the government. And they are apparently worried and are preparing the groundwork for Friday, when there will be a large demonstration and the opening of a route connecting Tekoa and Jerusalem.”
Efrat Residents Protest New Car Stickers
Full Text;
Dozens of residents of the Gush Etzion town of Efrat, south of Jerusalem, are angry at the demand they place identifying stickers on their car windows. The identification ostensibly is to make it easier for drivers to pass through check points, but the residents fear they are being marked for the future.
The sticker system already is in effect in other parts of Judea and Samaria, but many people have complained they have no value for security because Arabs can easily duplicate them.
Efrat Residents Oppose Sticker Calls
Excerpts;
Many residents of the settlement of Efrat are furious, following a demand that they place a resident’s sticker on their car. The aim of the sticker is to make it easier for residents to get through West Bank checkpoint, but some see it as a means to “mark” them ahead of the disengagement plan.
An Efrat woman echoed the statement, saying: “I didn’t immigrate to Israel so that they put a sticker on me, a patch or number – not on my cloths, on my hand, or on the car.”
Orah Yanai, who has lived in Gush Etzion for 20 years, told Ynet: “We’ve never been asked to place a sticker, therefore this is very strange. The council did this is in a sophisticated way, like trapping someone.”
She added: “The Interior and Defense Ministries are behind this. This is a political thing. This is selection. This is the first phase in a political process. We have a feeling that something is behind this act that we are not being told about, against the backdrop of the convergence plan.”

Subject: Demand the opening of the Tekoa-Jerusalem Road, now closed to Jewish traffic.
THIS COMING FRIDAY , June 9th, 2006 there will be 2 simultaneous activities demanding the opening of the Tekoa-Jerusalem Road,
that is closed to Jewish traffic.
Reminder: At the time, a beautiful road had been paved, connecting Eastern Gush Etzion with Jerusalem, an approximate 8 minute drive. The road is paved (except the last 500 meter which is still a dirt road) but only open to Arab traffic, who use it to drive from Hebron to Ramallah.
The Jews are demanded to make a huge detour through Efrat & the Tunnel Road -adding to the traffic on the main highway- a trip that can sometimes take up to 2 hours. The official reason given for the closing of the road to Jews-“security”. The real reason though, is the wish to get the public ready for the “Convergence” Plan, the plan for the withdrawal and expulsion from Judea & Samaria. A plan that if implemented, G-d forbid, will bring the Hamas, the kassams & katyushot to Jerusalem and Gush Dan.
The “convergence plan” is implemented in stages: first they close roads to Jews, put up fences, gates, make the Jews wait in unbearable political traffic jams, hand out racist “residents stickers” for the Jews to put on their cars- all this in order to depress, crush, tire out , dry up and despair the Jewish public . Only after that are they able to carry out any expulsion and deportation.
If we act against all those “pre-convergence” stages NOW, please G-d we will be able to avert the evil decree.
