Commentary;
As the main concerns of Ehud Olmert and his corrupt, self-aggrandizing cronies, including an entire cabinet, at least 117 members of Knesset and certain local city governments, seem to be;
- 1/ Maintaining their own power and power-bases at all cost
- 2/ Self-enrichment through any and all means of bribery, graft, corruption and strong-arming
- 3/ Blind, mindless, hard-hearted efforts to render Israel Yudenrein,
the Arabs in Gaza have exploited the truce in order to attempt facilitation, Heaven-forbid, of a blood-bath reaching as far as Kiryat Gat and Ashdod (Beit Shemesh too???). The attitude of Israel’s corrupt governance, in its utter refusal to fight the Islamic foe to a victorious conclusion, is the governed be damned.
And the governed, in their total inculcation of subservience, sit in total supplication to evil leaders. MB
Diskin: Hamas Booby Trapping Gaza Strip
Excerpts;
Hamas has taken advantage of the cease-fire with Israel to plant mines across widespread areas of the Gaza Strip, the head of Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), Yuval Diskin, said Tuesday.
Speaking at the weekly meeting of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Diskin said the organization has rockets that can reach Kiryat Gat, and possibly Ashdod.
Diskin repeated his opposition to the truce, saying Hamas has benefited from it, as it has enabled the group to build itself up and reinforce itself. He said that, despite Israeli demands, arms-smuggling into Gaza has continued unabated and has not seen any decrease, with large amounts of weaponry being brought into the territory on a regular basis.

Al-Hayat: Israel Willing to Free Barghouti for Shalit
He added that Hamas has an interest in maintaining the calm at this time, in order to strengthen its hold on Gaza.
The Shin Bet chief said that in order to effectively combat terrorism in Gaza, Israel needs troop presence on the ground inside the territory. He mentioned the dramatic decrease in terror emanating from the West Bank in recent years due to heavy IDF presence in the region and ongoing operations there. This, he said, was also needed in order to quell terror attacks from Gaza.
Asked by MK Yisrael Katz about his opinion on the possible release of Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti as part of a prisoner exchange with Hamas, Diskin said he was opposed to such a move.
London-based Arab language newspaper Al-Hayat reported on Tuesday that Israel was willing to release Barghouti in exchange for Gilad Schalit, something Hamas has reportedly demanded.
