FM Livni’s Spokesperson Attempted to Deceive Press About Expense of Her [France] Trip, by Dr. Aaron Lerner (IMRA)

On July 13th, 2008, FM Livni opted to leave Paris with her entourage in first class seats on a commercial flight instead of returning with PM Olmert on his chartered plane later that day so that she could attend a wedding.
Israel Television and Radio correspondent and Hakol Diburim anchor Ayala Chason revealed in the program this morning that FM Livni’s spokesperson tried to deceive the press regarding this incident.
The spokesperson claimed that Livni actually saved the Israeli taxpayers money since she and her entourage checked out of the hotel in the morning instead of the afternoon.
Chason checked with the hotel and discovered that the Government of France had covered the hotel tab for the Israeli delegation.
“Livni saved the French taxpayers by checking out early,” concluded Chason.
