Commentary;
This is what happens when an Israeli government has a delusive, appeasing, supplicational, surrenderous mindset before it’s Islamic enemies who are sworn to her destruction. This is the result of governance which holds its governed hostage by tolerating Kassam and mortar barrages and by its freeing thousands of bloody-handed terrorists to kill more Jews, in exchange for Israeli captives; be they dead or alive. There are limits to Pidyon Sh’vuyim; national security, national defense and deterrence and Kiddush Hashem being but a few. MB

Gaza Crossings to be Closed Tuesday, by By Khaled Abu Toameh (Jerusalem Post)
Excerpts;
Gaza’s border crossings will once again remain closed on Tuesday, following instructions by Defense Minister Ehud Barak. The decision came after the Gaza truce was breached yet again on Monday afternoon when a mortar shell was fired at the Karni crossing.
A high-level Hamas delegation is scheduled to arrive in Cairo Tuesday for talks with Egyptian government officials on the possibility of reaching a prisoner exchange agreement with Israel and to preserve the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.
A top Hamas official said…. that the lack of progress on the issue of the border crossings was behind the delay in achieving a breakthrough in the talks over the release of kidnapped St.-Sgt. Gilad Schalit.
Why Are We Doing Nothing?, by Alex Fishman (Ynet)
Excerpts;
Our politicians cannot see beyond their nose: They secured a lull with Hamas in the Gaza Strip and then got tired and went to get some rest. Barely three weeks have passed, and they already forgot why they reached a truce in the first place.
The group uses every moment in this lull in order to better organize and build up strength ahead of the next round of fighting. And what do our leaders do in order to take advantage of the lull ahead of the next round? Nothing. We’re on vacation.
Even if the truce is violated, and the IDF proceeds to operate inside the Gaza Strip, Qassam rockets and mortar shells will continue to land for some time at least. So why don’t we take decisions now, instead of improvising later?
