Dr. Gadi Eshel of the Jabotinsky Heritage House termed the psychological training given to IDF soldiers before the 2005 Expulsion of 8,000 Jews from Gaza and four Shomron towns as “brainwashing” in a research study completed by the organization. Researchers concluded that this psychological training “had a serious impact on soldiers’ performance in later conflicts.”
Nearly 3 years ago, before the expulsion, a then-resident of Kfar Darom foresaw the drastic and serious psychological impact on all aspects of a soldier’s life resulting from both the training and carrying out the expulsion of Jews. Rabbi Dov Lior, chairman of the Yesha Rabbinical Council, has pronounced the government’s authorization of the transfer of armored vehicles to the Palestinian Authority as a forbidden act. One can only hope that religious soldiers have learned the lessons of the expulsion, both spiritually and psychologically, and do not repeat greivous errors by taking part in and faciliting the Israeli government’s morally bankrupt gezeira of transferring weapons to Islamics which undoubtedly would be turned around and used to murder and maim Jews. The Jabotinsky Heritage House in Tel Aviv recently completed a study on the psychological training given to IDF soldiers before the 2005 “Disengagement” and its effect on subsequent IDF operations. The psychological training given to soldiers had a serious impact on soldiers’ performance in later conflicts, researchers found.
Dr. Gadi Eshel said the research team managed to collect a vast amount of material on the mental preparation for the eviction and the eviction itself. The material showed that the army put a great deal of effort into creating terms that would help soldiers to feel that they were doing the right thing, said researcher Ruthie Isakovich. Isakovich labeled the training given to soldiers to mentally prepare them to evict Jews
“brainwashing.”
Rabbi: Weapons Transfer to PA Forbidden

Rabbi Dov Lior, chairman of the Yesha Rabbinical Council, said following the government’s authorization of the transfer of armored vehicles to the Palestinian Authority that it is “forbidden to transfer arms of any kind to the Arabs” and that those who authorize or assist in the implementation of this decision “are spillers of blood and aid the enemy.”
The rabbi cited as the basis of his ruling that the weapons would eventually end up in the hands of Hamas, thereby endangering the lives of Jews, saying that “it is well-known that PA police have been responsible for a number of terrorist incidents” against Jews including the including the “murders of Ido Zoldan, David Rubin and Ahikam Amihai.”
The ruling added that interference with such transfers is obligatory and that orders to comply with the transfer ought to be refused.
Specifically, the ruling states that “according to Jewish law, anyone who can disrupt the transfer of weapons to the Palestinian Authority is obligated to do so” and that IDF commanders ought to ensure that their “soldiers do not implement this [transfer].”
“Anyone who disrupts this reckless act is saving Israeli lives and will be blessed by God,” he added.
