This primary day, like any other election day in Israel, has had it’s misrepresentations, false charges and deceit — nearly all of it coming from the Netanyahu camp and from the leftist media which eats all up.

Imagine the hypocrisy of the above charges at the very moment that the Netanyahu campaign headquarters in Jerusalem occupies the 2nd floor of a building which has a Jews for Jesus center in its lobby. That’s a real great message to give voters?
Jerusalem Post writer Mark Weiss writes an analysis; Feiglin – the Likud’s ‘Militant Tendency?
In the article, Weiss writes;
On the face of it, there is something admirable that ideology is still alive and well in the cynical world of Israeli politics: that a group of dedicated believers can push for its principles to be accepted, especially in the Likud, which in recent years has become synonymous with corruption and cronyism.
However, there is one main problem. Feiglin and his Jewish Leadership faction do not belong in the Likud.
Feiglin’s platform of what is termed “authentic Jewish values” and implementing “Jewish law” owe more to the late Rabbi Meir Kahane than to the heritage of Vladimir Ze’ev Jabotinsky and Menachem Begin.
This author highly doubts that Moshe Feiglin or anyone in the Manhigut Yehudit camp would apologize if their views and positions were akin to those of Rav Me’ir Kahane, Z’l for Rav Kahane best vocally expressed the sentiments of proud Jews who connected with the Jewish destiny and legacy.
Moshe Feiglin has built on and given further clarity to the views and positions of Rav Kahane and welded them into a movement which seems on the threshold of returning Likud to it’s founding values.
And as Netanyahu’s campaign continues it’s absurd charges against the Feiglin campaign, consider Netanyahu’s own strong-armed tactics which caused Feiglin’s campaign manager to file a police complaint due to;
Knesset Memeber Haim Katz using vehicles rented by the government controlled Israel Aircraft Industries to bring Netanyahu supporters to the voting stations. Aside from his duties as an MK, Katz is the chairman of the IAI labor union.
Compare Feiglin’s positions and ideology with the actions of Netanyahu;
Renting campaign headquarters in a building housing Jews for Jesus follows a logical progression which started with his endorsing Oslo as prime minister, inaction when the Arabs seized Kever Yosef in 1996, his walking away from 80% of Hevron, signing the Wye agreement, shaking hands with AIDS-wracked Arafat and voting for the expulsion of Jews from Jewish land.
Undoubtedly, due to Bibi’s lack of principles and scruples, Begin and Jabotinsky must be turning in their graves. MB
