A second barrage of Katyusha rockets struck the Haifa area on Friday afternoon, less than an hour after the first assault of the day.
One of the rockets landed in Kiryat Yam, while the other two fell in open areas, Channel 10 reported. Initial reports suggested that no one was wounded in the second attack.

Five Palestinians, including a mother and her three sons, were killed after daybreak Friday in an explosion in a house in Shajaiyeh, hospital officials said.
The army said it fired at two gunmen who were on a balcony because they were preparing to launch an anti-tank weapon at the forces. Israel Radio reported that one of the men was a Hamas operative.
Palestinians operated from within populated areas, the IDF said, when the troops are threatened, it is the IDF’s responsibility to defend itself.

At Least 19 people Wounded in Haifa Rocket Bombardment

Nineteen people were wounded early Friday afternoon, after at least three rockets, fired by Hizbullah landed in Haifa.
One rocket scored a direct hit at the fourth floor of a residential building, and managed to penetrate into two other floors of the same building. A local post office branch was also hit.
One of the wounded sustained moderate to serious injuries, one was moderately wounded, another lightly and the rest suffered from shock.
Shortly after, rockets landed also in Safed, Hatzor and Kiryat Shmona, though no one was reported wounded at those sites. Firefighters worked at extinguishing a fire that resulted from the strike. Sirens warning of impending rockets also sounded in Tiberias and later in Karmiel, though no rockets were reported to have fallen. Over 20 rockets were launched into northern Israel on Friday, most of which landed in open areas. One person was lightly wounded in Rosh Pina, Israel Radio reported.

As Tomer Weinberg lay bloodied and barely conscious among the ruins of his IDF Hummer after the initial Hizballah attack, he heard Arabic coming from the other side of the smoke that engulfed him.
Weinberg turned to the driver and made his fellow reservist promise to shoot him dead rather than let him be taken hostage.
But it didn’t come to that. Weinberg managed to crawl 25 meters away from the scene and take cover behind some bushes.
Peretz Hints at Ground Operation in Lebanon

Defense Minister Amir Peretz hinted Thursday that the Israel Defense Forces could launch a ground operation in Lebanon.
“Hezbollah must not think that we would recoil from using all kinds of military measures against it,” Peretz said during a visit to communities in the Katyusha-battered north.
“We have no intention of occupying Lebanon, but we also have no intention of retreating from any military measures needed,” he said.
