PM: Attack Will Have ‘Far-Reaching Consequences’

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that there would be “far-reaching consequences” for a rocket attack launched by Lebanese guerillas on the city of Haifa that killed eight people and wounded dozens of others.
“Nothing will deter us,” he said at the beginning of his government’s weekly Cabinet meeting. “There will be far-reaching consequences in our relations on the northern border and in the area in general.”

More Rockets Hit Coastal Cities From Nahariya to Haifa

Hizbullah operatives fired a barrage of dozens of Katyushas at the north, hitting Haifa, Acre, Kiryat Haim, Naharayim, Kibbutz Sa’ar, Kfar Maimon and Nahariya, on Sunday morning.
Police and medical teams reported that eight people were killed and around 25 people were physically wounded, six seriously and four moderately, in Haifa. Seven people were lightly wounded, and others were being treated for shock.
There were suspicions that some of the rockets were more advanced Fajar rockets and not Katyushas.
Rockets fell at the train station in Haifa. All train traffic to and from the city has been temporarily halted.
The eight were killed when a rocket hit a storage room at the train station.

8 Dead as Haifa Shudders Under Rocket Attacks

The Lebanese terrorist group Hizb’allah seriously escalated its conflict with Israel Sunday, firing multiple rocket salvoes into the port city of Haifa, killing at least eight Israelis and wounding 30 more, six of them seriously.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared that his country “has no intention of folding in the face of our enemies.”
Israeli military sources said the rockets that hit Haifa were not the Russian-made Katyusha’s that have rained down across the north since last Wednesday.
Instead the Hizb’allah had used the Iranian-manufactured and supplied Fajr-3, a longer range missile packing an explosive warhead.
