Fatah: Hamas Sent the Terrorists to Kerem Shalom
Al Hayat: Abu Samhadana Planned Kerem Shalom Attack
Excerpts;
The London-based Arabic newspaper Al Hayat reported Monday that the attack on IDF forces near Kerem Shalom on Sunday, in which two IDF soldiers were killed and a third kidnapped, had been planned by Popular Resistance Committees leader Jamal Abu Samhadana. Samhadana was killed on June 9 in an IAF air strike.
The Security Cabinet convened an emergency session Sunday night to discuss an Israeli response to Shalit’s kidnapping …
It was decided to give the IDF the green light to prepare all the forces necessary for a military operation against Gaza terror cells. As of 9:00 p.m. large amounts of Golani and Givati Brigade infantry troops were amassing on the Israeli side of the Gaza security fence.
In addition, the Cabinet decided that no Palestinian security prisoners would be released from Israeli jails, effectively closing the door on any negotiations with Shalit’s captors.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert also told IDF commanders to assure at all costs that Shalit’s captors were not able to move him out of the Gaza Strip.
Olmert said after the meeting that Israel would not “pass the event by silently,” promising a powerful military response that “wouldn’t be a matter of [only] one or two days.”
[The previous report – first paragraph: “The Aksa Martyrs’ Brigades of the Fatah threatened to strike at IDF forces and western Negev communities with chemical and biological weapons if Israeli forces entered the Gaza Strip in pursuit of kidnapped soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit, according to a Channel 2” report.]

Arab Diplomats: Kidnapped Soldier in Good Health
Excerpts;
During the cabinet meeting, ministers Shimon Peres, Eli Yishai and Meir Shitrit urged the IDF to respond with restraint to the attack. However, Olmert responded, “The age of restraint has come to an end… We will respond forcefully, with an operation that will last more than a day or two.”
However, he said that Israel’s current focus is on Shalit, and preventing militants from taking him out of the Gaza Strip.
The prime minister also said that Israel would not release Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Shalit’s freedom, as Israel has done in the past to secure the releases of kidnapped soldiers.
Commentary;
What emerges from this exercise is that from the PM on down, they seem a bunch of rank-amateurs doing OJT with the security of the Jewish state, the Jewish people at stake. They either have not a clue, or refuse to admit who perpetrated Sunday’s disaster, for to admit who perpetrated the event is to admit the abysmal, castastrophic error of expelling Jews and walking away land Hashem gave to B’nai Yisrael, the Jewish people .
And this group waffles about what the military response to yesterday’s attack and kidnappng should be, despite the sharp rhetoric.
If the PM, DM and IDF COS were known to deliver on their words, with concrete actions, deterrence would be in place. But, instead we are continually faced with the “hit them very, very hard” syndrome i.e.; tough-sounding words like “we know what to do”, or “they’re involved from head to toe”, recommending a “harsh response”, promising a powerful military response that wouldn’t be only for ” … [only] one or two days.”
Threats and hard words, not accompanied by actions in keeping with tough-sounding statements make for a result that with every utterance, these incompetents make themselves a laughing-stock before the enemy and before the entire world. Here are a couple of real-time examples of just how laughable tough-sounding words are when not followed by actions commensurate with the words; “Source: Israel Will Destroy Hamas Gov’t if Soldier Not Returned Alive”, and Olmert: ‘Response Will Be Mighty’
What it comes down to is this; Olmert, Peretz, Halutz: no personal pride, no national pride or Self Esteem, no Jewish self- esteem or pride, and no manhood, only self-maintainance of regime, of personal power, at all costs.
And Israel’s MSM are willing, anxious accomplices to political mal-feasance and non-feasance with their cheap, sensationalized, humiliating, defeatist and victimization headlines and reporting. MB
