If Pollard’s release is so important to the Rav, why was it not made a precondition with teeth, to Shas’ joining the coalition? Why, only after joining the coalition, did Pidyan Sh’vuim: redeeming captured [Jews], become an important mitzvah?
Is Rav Yosef willing to tell Shas to leave the government if Olmert does not return with Jonathan Pollard? MB
