Dangerous Precedent: Jerusalem Judge Rules PA is a Sovereign State

In a ground-breaking decision that promises to have repercussions throughout the world, the President of the Jerusalem District court rules Sunday that the Palestinian Authority can be considered a sovereign state.
Judge Boaz Okon issued the verdict that said “The PA meets the main requirements that constitute a ‘state’.”
The decision came in civil lawsuit over lands purchased by the Association of the Elon Moreh College from PA Arabs in Area A, under full PA control. The Association claimed the lands were bought from a village chief, whose affidavit was later disregarded. The Association sought a return of the money it paid for the land, which the Court ruled was not necessary inasmuch as Israeli law does not apply in Palestinian Authority-controlled territories.
The suit was filed in the Jerusalem District court by the Association against the State of Israel, the PA and other bodies in a request to rule on the legal status of land in Area A.
