Federman Plans to Appeal Against Permit to Bury Sharon on Farm
Full Text;
“The Negev’s District Planning Committee has approved the future burial of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in his Shikmim Farm, near Sderot.”
“The committee apparently wished to head off objections to such a decision by Noam Federman of Hevron. Federman has raised the issue in the past, saying that the fact that Sharon’s wife Lili is buried there illegally should not enable Sharon himself to be buried there.”
“Federman says he plans to appeal the decision in the courts, on two grounds: ‘The area is a nature preserve, and therefore burial is forbidden. In addition, it is against the spirit of the law; are other people allowed to simply bury their loved ones in their yard?'”
