Police Want to Know Why Didn’t They Fire?
Excerpts;
“One of the officers, a female, told reporters she feared that if she fired, she would strike innocent bystanders. The two also explained they feared perhaps the suspected bomber was just a hearing impaired person who did not hear instructions to halt.”
“A senior police commander explainined police fear the drawing of their weapons and firing because before they take such action, they first consider the ramifications and the police investigations unit which will scrutinize their actions, pointing to several cases in which persons who fired their weapons faced criminal charges.”
Commentary:
Or as the words on the old Honenu website explained: “If You’re Alive, You Must Be Guilty!” Unfortunately, there seems not to be sufficient training of police personnel as to situations such as the excerpts of this story portray. It’s a shame that Honenu took these words off of their new website, for they are as true as when the previous site went live on the internet. MB
