NRP Looking for Sephardi Candidate

Excerpts:

‘If we want to hold onto Beit El and Ofra, we have to help Sderot and Kiryat Shmona,’ said Orlev, who said that social welfare issues would be one of three central issues showcased in the united list’s campaign. The Sephardi vote is identified with development towns outside the nation’s large cities that suffer from high unemployment and low income.”

“‘We have to bring on board people who are identified with social welfare issues,’ said Orlev, implying that the newcomers would be Sephardi.”

“Orlev said that one-third of the list would be made up of newcomers, including three people among the first 10. The NRP chairman also said that the issue of Greater Israel would be played down in the campaign.

“‘With Effie Eitam and Tzvi Hendel in the list I don’t need to talk about Greater Israel.'”

Since when is Jewish survival and the Land of Israel to be horse-traded in exchange for bribes re: S’fardi candidates, money, etc.? MB

Knesset Raises Limit on Funding Party Primaries

Excerpt:

“Following the approval of the amendment, MK Omri Sharon who was convicted last week for taking illegal donations for his father Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s Likud primaries campaign in 1999, may plea for a reduced sentence in his trial. Sharon was convicted of taking donations in excess of NIS 6 million, which is six times more than the former limit, but only three times more than the newly-approved limit on donations.”

How is it possible that a new law would retroactively, partially legalize prior corruption? I guess that we come to call this “The Omri Law.” MB

Manhigut Yehudit Study Reveals What Likudniks Want

Excerpt:

“Moshe Feiglin of the Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership) faction within the Likud, commissioned a study to find out what the Likud voter is looking for and was pleasantly surprised.”

One of the few really bright spots in this election is the continued workman-like effort of Moshe Feiglin and Manhigut Yehudit in making inroads inside Likud as Primary day draws ever closer. Onward to Victory!! MB
