Do Katzav, Papal Official. Denials close the subject of Mt. Zion land swap??

Following up on the previous reports on this subject; (Note additional material below)

Earlier today, an individual received an email purportedly from Avi Granot who claims to be “Political Advisor to the President of Israel.” In the email, for which I am still awaiting authentication as real and true ( I can’t believe that the Office of the President of Israel would send out such an amatuerish looking piece not befitting the Office), Granot allegedly wrote; ” I would like to inform you that there is absolutely no base to the story which appeared in some press reports.”

I did a google search on key words/phrases “Katzav, Vatican, Last Supper” which turned up a multitude of sources reporting that this “land swap” is in the works despite the above denials. MB

I believe that the prudent thing to do is, as was suggested, to email a form letter to the various publications which reported a deal in the making.

A sample email reads as follows;

Dear Editor,
According to the Office of the President of the State of Israel, there is
absolutely no base to the story which appeared in your publication
on________ and was posted at ____________.

If this is so, then kindly issue a retraction or apology, as many Jewish
people both in Israel and the Diaspora were distressed by your publication’s
report.

If you stand by your story, then please provide me with some clarification.

Thank you for your prompt attention.

Sincerely,

Frankly, in the immortal words of a not-so-well known Aretha Franklin tune, “Who’s Zoomin’ Who?”

Considering the level of truthfulness and candor of Israel’s current governing leaders, I hold that every Jew needs to have eyes behind his head and be alert at all times. MB

Katsav, Papal Official deny ‘site swap’

Is the denial in this article sufficient? Is it acceptable? Does it bring this episode to an end? Let’s be clear, there is no denying that the Vatican has had plans for and designs on the Mt. Zion “Last Supper” room for decades. The issue is; Has anyone in Israel approved of this plan? Reports that President Katzav will be signing over Mt. Zion, or any part of it, to the Vatican when he meets with the Pope in mid-November — Fact or Fiction??

Can we really believe that Katzav and papal representative really knew “nothing about the matter?”

Or were they really trying to pull the wool over Jewish eyes, to get over on us after the Expulsion when so much of our efforts and energies are directed to and occupied by helping the Refugee families?

I posed these questions by email to Ellen H. who originally broke this story in her article; Vatican’t which this blog featured on 23 October, 2005 under the headline;
Katsav to Sign Over Parts of David’s Tomb to Vatican.

Here is her response via email;

Let me see… The deal exists on papal paper, and the president of the pontifical council is hopeful that our president will sign an agreement which he claims to know nothing about when he [Katzav] visits the pope later this month. Holy Toledo!

So, we all sit waiting, with baited breath for all of these retractions or apologies to start flowing from the Christian and Vatican media.
