“And in Lebanon, we will insist on compliance with the terms stipulated long ago by the international community, as unequivocally expressed only yesterday in the resolution of the 8 leading countries of the world:

– The return of the hostages, Ehud (Udi) Goldwasser and Eldad Regev;
– A complete cease fire;
– Deployment of the Lebanese army in all of Southern Lebanon;
– Expulsion of Hezbollah from the area, and fulfillment of United Nations Resolution 1559.

We will not suspend our actions.”

Likud MK Calls on Olmert, Peretz to Resign

“Edelstein said the Knesset should be dissolved if the two leaders refused to resign. ‘At a time when the State of Israel faces the most dangerous existential threats in its history, it is forbidden for Olmert and Peretz to stall for time at the expense of national security,’ he said.”

Commentary;

The apparent bottom line which probably WON’T appear in the Winograd report; In their consuming disdain of Jewishness, Olmert, Peretz and Livni cared more about convergence, consolidation, realignment than they did about planning and carrying out the defense the nation. MB
