He also said that while the latest CAT scan showed that although the left side of Sharon&#8217;s brain appeared &#8216;normal,&#8217; there would be no way of assessing the extent of the damage caused by the prime minister&#8217;s cerebral hemorrhage until doctors brought Sharon out of his induced coma.<\/strong>&#8221; <\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;On Sunday morning, Hadassah neurologists, neurosurgeons, and anesthesiologists will meet and discuss continued treatment.&#8221;<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/hasen\/spages\/666918.html\"><strong>Doctors: Sharon&#8217;s Brain X-Ray Shows Slight Improvement, But He&#8217;s Still Critical<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Excerpts;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hadassah University Hospital director Shlomo Mor-Yosef said Saturday evening that <strong>the latest scan of the brain of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, performed Saturday, shows a slight improvement, but his overall condition remains critical.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The improvement doctors noticed on the prime minister&#8217;s CT scan was thanks to a certain diminution the edema that causes the intra-cranial pressure<\/strong>, Mor-Yosef said.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mor-Yosef emphasised, however, that the current treatment is aimed at keeping the prime minister alive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;&#8216;First we have to stabilize the situation and fight for the life of the prime minister,&#8217; he said.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;When asked whether his life could be saved, Mor-Yosef replied, &#8216;We believe it&#8217;s possible.'&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;When waking Sharon out of his coma, doctors will be &#8216;looking for some sort of response,&#8217; Mor-Yosef said. &#8216;If there is no response, that would be bad news.'&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Hadassah Hospital spokeswoman Yael Bosem-Levy on Saturday evening denied a report by Sky TV that Sharon had contracted pneumonia as well.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sharon, who is fighting for his life after suffering a severe stroke and cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday night, was taken for a procedural CT scan Saturday morning to check for internal bleeding and examine intra-cranial pressure following surgical intervention the day before.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ynetnews.com\/articles\/0,7340,L-3196648,00.html\"><strong>Doctor: PM Will Likely Survive<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Excerpts;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Optimistic remarks: <strong>Prime Minister Ariel Sharon&#8217;s chances of survival are &#8216;very high&#8217;, one of the PM&#8217;s surgeons said<\/strong> in an interview with Israel&#8217;s Channel 2 Saturday evening.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8216;Today is better than yesterday. <strong>The feeling is a little more optimistic, more than yesterday,&#8217; Jose Cohen said in the interview. &#8216;Tomorrow (Sunday) is the day of truth, tomorrow we&#8217;ll know whether everything we did really helped him (Sharon) or not.<\/strong>&#8216;&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neurosurgeon Thinks PM has Good Chance to Survive Sharon&#8217;s Condition Serious but Stable; Vital Signs Normal.
