Doctors Say Sharon’s Condition Good<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

“Prime Minister Ariel Sharon released his medical records a press conference on Monday afternoon.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The medical briefing was given behind closed doors, with no cameras or microphones. <\/strong>Four of the prime minister’s doctors were there, including Professor Tamir Ben-Hur, Professor Bolek Goldman (who has served as Sharon’s doctor for 30 years), physician of internal medicine Dr. Shlomo Segev, and cardiology professor Haim Lotan.”<\/p>\n

“Sharon is to undergo catheterization of the heart in two-three weeks, the doctors confirmed. During the procedure, the prime minister will be administered a general anesthetic.”<\/strong> <\/p>\n

“A cardiac catheterization is a procedure where a doctor inserts a thin plastic tube into an artery or vein in the arm or leg. From there, it can be advanced into the chambers of the heart or into the coronary arteries.” <\/p>\n

“The Yediot Aharonot daily reported recently that the prime minister would soon have to be hospitalized again. The paper published Sharon’s medical file, which indicated that while his general state of health was comparatively good for a 77-year-old man, Sharon suffers from a number of health problems, the most serious of which is excess weight.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Night of Stroke, PM was Unable to Make Decisions<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

“Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was unable to make decisions and had difficulty speaking when he was rushed to the hospital after a stroke last Sunday night, his doctors revealed on Monday.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Doctors also said the characterization of the stroke as “mild” was mistaken, as Sharon suffered from the stroke’s effects for more than 24 hours.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Before this detail was released, MK Michael Eitan (Likud) on Monday had called the exposure of Sharon’s medical file a “manipulation.” He said that doctors should unveil not only Sharon’s test results but also a neurological assessment that would clarify whether the stroke damaged his abilities.” <\/strong><\/p>\n
