PM Olmert doesn’t even try to insult the intelligence of JP readers by claiming that creation of a sovereign Palestinian state would bring either peace or security – just a way to address the question of Palestinian voting rights.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t so long ago that Olmert, Peres and Rabin were confident that there was a viable solution to the challenge of providing the Palestinians with voting rights without creating a sovereign Palestinian state that could ultimately destroy Israel: Palestinian autonomy.<\/p>\n

What changed?<\/p>\n

If anything the need for an alternative to a sovereign Palestinian state is clearer today than ever before.<\/p>\n

So what happened?<\/p>\n

In the old days the retreat promoters argued that retreat would bring peace and security. Now they know that this is a farce the public cannot accept.<\/p>\n

So they came up with the voting argument.<\/p>\n

And the intellectual midgets accepted the argument and the die was cast.<\/strong> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n
