Sneh: Peretz to Tackle Settler Violence<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Under Labor Party chairman Amir Peretz’s leadership, the Defense Ministry will wield a strong hand against settlers who violently resist government policy, Labor MK Ephraim Sneh told The Jerusalem Post Wednesday. <\/p>\n

Peretz would also cease to turn a blind eye to illegal building in the West Bank, Sneh said during an interview in his Knesset office. <\/p>\n

Sneh, who may yet serve as Peretz’s deputy defense minister pending ongoing debate over the final coalition agreement, said that under Labor’s leadership there would be serious policy changes in the ministry. <\/p>\n

“The defense establishment will remain the same, but the policy will be changed,” said Sneh. “There is a long list of actions that are currently happening, that are currently permitted in the territories, that will no longer continue under [Labor] control.”<\/strong> <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Commentary; <\/p>\n

Since Amir Peretz knows not the first thing about national defense, it sounds very much like deputy defense minister-apparent Ephraim Sneh will be Peretz’s grunt while Comrade Peretz basks in all of the “glory”, fighting Jews instead of Arabs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This author received an interesting, absolutely devastating email today regarding Amir Peretz’s marketable ministerial skills. Here’s the rundown;<\/p>\n

– Defence: TOTALLY unqualified.<\/p>\n

– Finance: TOTALLY unqualified AND an unrepentent socialist or Marxist.<\/em><\/p>\n

– Foreign: TOTALLY unqualified, has almost no English (can’t even READ a speech, let alone deliver one)<\/em> and beside he is totally uninterested.<\/p>\n

– Education: TOTALLY unqualified and probably he is totally uninterested.<\/p>\n

– Housing: probably totally unqualified and probably he is totally uninterested.<\/p>\n

– Transportation: probably totally unqualified and probably he is totally
\nuninterested. (Except where it involves DISRUPTING transportation on the roads and at the ports with his Histadrut toughs.)<\/p>\n

– Science: TOTALLY unqualified.<\/p>\n

– Health: TOTALLY unqualified.<\/p>\n

– Labor: Totally QUALIFIED, even if we may disagree with his positions. Let’s push that he belongs there. That way we seem reasonable because we are giving an honest alternative. Except that he would never accept such a lowly position so it puts him in a total bind. <\/strong><\/p>\n
