It is truly fascinating to contrast Yaakov Litzman’s version of the situation with that of the Admor [Rebbe] of Slonim.<\/p>\n

As one reads both articles, one finds that apparently Litzman plays the same game in Chareidi circles that Sharon and Olmert play; alienation and radicalization of any individual or group who stands in his way.<\/em><\/p>\n

Litzman apparently has falsely lumped the Slonim Chassidic sect Edah Haredit in with Neturei Karta and other Ultra-Orthodox elements, when in reality, the question must be asked; Does MK Litzman have what to hide behind this bogus characterization of Slonim as “radical?” This author finds that the truth seems closer to the Slonim Rebbe’s account.<\/p>\n

“The Rebbe was quoted as saying, ‘One must not vote for United Torah Judaism, which is the same as voting for Kadima.’<\/em> Other segments among the Chareidim accuse the politicians of ‘ …the abuse of the Torah Sage Rabbi Elyashiv and ignoring of the Council of Torah Sages, and the behavior of the party faction during the Disengagement.'”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Litzman’s actions have been highly and openly criticized, “Specifically, he was ordered to vote ‘no’ in a critical Disengagement vote in the Finance Committee in November 2004. However, he was curiously absent from the session, explaining that he had an important Postal Authority event to attend at a Dead Sea hotel.
