Israeli Government’s Shameful Behavior Toward It’s Allies

.
Commentary;

This blog has hammered home again and again the shame of the evolving cycle of Israel’s governance in abandoning soldiers on fields of battle, such as with Jonathan Pollard, failure to rescue or even attempt to gain obtain sufficient intelligence to plan rescue of the kidnapped soldiers and it’s abandonment in 2000 (under cover of darkness) of the very South Lebanese allies who fought against terror alongside IDf soldiers.

What Evelyn Gordon relates in her column excerpted below could be extended to Israel’s American legislative allies who continually have their wings clipped. There is a litany of instances of American legislators taking very pro-Israel positions only to have their legs taken out from under them by a leftist Israeli regime. Examples in point are the US Joint Chiefs of Staff map of Israel’s defensible borders which Olmert withholds from distribution to Israelis as well as Israel’s recent possible failure to facilitate receipt by US House or Senate committees of videos of Egyptian officials caught in the act of aiding arms smuggling to terrorists in Gaza. In this later, recent case, American legislative allies may have been denied a major weapon to deny Eygpt military assistance. MB read more

Terror Planners to Get Pass in Regime’s New “Blood on Hands” Criteria?

.

Commentary;

Barak of IRIS takes Kadima ministers to task yet again for proposing to change the ‘rigid standards’ of murder to exclude those who mastermind terrorist operations. And recent polls indicate that a majority, as high as 2/3rds of the Israeli public stands opposed to such definitional change, even in a deal for the release of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, held hostage in gaza for 1 1/2 years.

Unfortunately, despite the monumental blunders and follies of two successive regimes, Israelis lack the backbone to do anything about either the current regime or the Israeli system of protexia government. The result of this spineless complacency may well be that Shalit freed in exchange for Marwan Barghouti and future considerations (more injured, maimed or dead Jews) MB read more

Tel Aviv’s Kfar Shalem: Another Expulsion Scar From Olmert Regime

.

Commentary;

What can one expect when an evil regime follows upon the precedents set in Gush Katif, the Shomron, Hevron’s Shalhevet neighborhood, Amona, etc.?

What this attack shows is that the Israeli government is as callous toward its Yemenite citizens now as they’ve been during the entire 60 years that these people have lived in the land. And it shows the indifference of most Israelis toward the plight of these residents, just as they were mainly indifferent to the former residents of Gush Katif. Further, it matters little on which side of the so-called “Greenline” one lives. Scary indeed! MB read more

Israel’s Media Image: Another Expulsion Rationale Bites the Dust

Study Shows Israel’s Image Got Worse After Disengagement, by Gil Ronen (Israel National News)

Excerpts;

A Hebrew University study showed that Israel’s image in American and British media got worse after the pullout from Gaza and the destruction of the Jewish communities there (the Disengagement). The researchers followed the way the mainstream media in the U.S. and Britain reported on Israel and the formal announcements made by the governments of both countries regarding Israel. The study dealt with a nine-month period, beginning three months before the Disengagement and ending with the elections in the Palestinian Authority. read more

Journalist and author Uri Dan, of blessed memory, who was niftar one year ago, wrote the piece excerpted below commemorating the 30th anniversary of the rescue at Entebbe less than 6 months before passing away.

Dan’s assessment nearly 1 1/2 years ago seems as valid today as it seemed then, despite the Olmert regime’s fiasco in Lebanon and ongoing snafu regarding protection of the southern towns from Kassam, mortar and possible Katyusha bombardments and the rooting out and eliminating the terrorist threat. read more
