Excerpts;

In a bid to “re-brand” Israel’s unpopular world image, Tzippy Livni and the gang at the Foreign Ministry are about to embark on a massive PR campaign. Livni plans to paint Israel as a sexy, modern country with beautiful beaches and a successful high-tech industry to boot. Livni believes that by embarking on this “nation branding” campaign, she can move the perception of Israel away from war-torn and fanatical, to an image of the great Israeli dream – normalcy. read more

Corrupt, Graft-Ridden, Impotent Government: Most Dangerous Threat to Israel Today…

The Intra-Israeli Threat, by Ari Shavit (Haaretz)

“The dilemma the attorneys are facing is not just about the affair itself. This is not just a matter of different ways in which the astounding evidentiary material can be read. Each of the three knows exactly what forces he is facing and what he can expect if he dares to enter into a confrontation with the strongest power centers in the country. Each knows that a chill wind of McCarthyism is blowing here today.”

“The attorneys’ decision must be clean, clear and transparent. They cannot leave ambiguous a question of such importance. They must know what lies in the balance; and if there is a festering abscess in the Bank Leumi affair, then it must be excised. Dealing with the intra-Israeli threat is now, above all, on the desks of three honest attorneys in Jerusalem. They must not fail. They must not allow the rot to eat the foundations of this society.” read more

Weekly Commentary: The Danger of Self Imposed Moderation in Gaza Strip Operation, by Dr. Aaron Lerner Date: 23 November, 2006 (IMRA)

Full Text;

When PM Olmert, DM Peretz and COS Halutz snap back at their critics that the IDF is already doing everything it can to stop the Qassams from the Gaza Strip, there are some huge caveats attached to the claim.

– The IDF’s mission includes destroying weapons stores, but if the weapons are stored in a residential area the IDF gives the Palestinians thirty minutes warning before attacking the location to either relocate the weapons or bring in even more human shields to protect it from attack. read more

France Okays Firing at IAF Over Lebanon

Question: Does this look like an Israeli victory??

IDF: Gaza Terrorists Have Anti-Aircraft Capabilities

Excerpts;

IAF sources are worried that, pursuant to Hizbullah success to take down an Israel helicopter in Lebanon, terror organizations in the Strip will try to arm themselves with anti-aircraft weaponry.

“The threats of antitank and anti-aircraft missiles in Gaza are increasing and we are preparing for that,” said the officer.

“We understand that they are struggling against us, that they’re learning lessons from their own experiences and from Lebanon, and we can definitely see an increased effort to smuggle armaments into Gaza.” read more

Knesset Committee Conditions Defense Funding on Reinforcing Sderot Schools

Full Text;

The Knesset Finance Committee today refused a request by the Finance Ministry to approve a 1.5 billion shekel reallocation of funds for defense expenses related to Israel’s recent war in Lebanon. The committee members conditioned the reallocation, which would transfer funds from other government ministries to the defense establishment, upon the Finance Ministry earmarking 100 million shekels for the reinforcement of school buildings in Sderot against rocket attacks. Committee chairman Yaakov Litzman (United Torah Judaism) voiced the MKs concerns. read more

Will Israel Act to ReTake Gaza?

IDF Mulls Retaking Entire Gaza Strip, By Yaakov Katz and Herb Keinon

Commentary;

This is a current update;

Security Cabinet Update: Security Cabinet Nixes Massive Anti-Kassam Offensive, For Now

We would all like to think that under the circumstances, the common-sense thing for any self-respecting sovereignty to do is to go in and invade. But, as written previously on this blog, a full invasion and the Retaking of Gaza will show the naked cruelty of the expulsion of the Jews from Gush Katif for all to see. Olmert knows this and knows that it constitutes admission of his own moral bankruptcy and the bankruptcy and moral corruption of “convergence.” In addition, his unbound, unbrided ego trumps Israel’s defense and security. Therefore, this author views a full invasion of and retaking of Gaza as highly unlikely as Olmert will NEVER do what is best for the nation’s security; instead, he will continue abrogating his solemn governmental responsibilities in the name of ego and blind hate for anything Jewish. The Olmert government must fall — Now! MB read more
